Is antiaging a myth? Can we do anything from our end to control ageing? 

In this video, SimpliHealth expert Dr. Preeti Jindal is busting myths about antiaging. She explains the different procedures available to restore collagen and elastin.

Is ageing reversible? 

We all want to look beautiful, stay healthy, and stay young. But our body doesn’t realise this, and constantly ages. Can we do anything from our end to control ageing? 

Yes. These days with the advancement of science, we have newer techniques that not only allow us to feel young, but also we can look young. 

Healthy diet 

So some of these techniques that we have to look after is dietary intake. We must eat good food. To live healthily and have a healthy life, we need to eat good food. Whatever we eat, it reflects on our face, and thereby reflects our age. 

So have fruits every day and have limited sugar intake. We must avoid intake of sugar entirely if possible. We should consume minimal carbohydrates and more protein. We should consume less of other things like oil and fast food.

Monitor your Weight 

First, we should control our weight. Obesity or being overweight is the most important ageing factor. A 20-year-old kid may look quite old if he is overweight. So the next step is to control our weight. 

Regular exercise

All of us should try to exercise for at least 20 minutes in a day like brisk walking, or if you can’t go for a walk, then at home itself you can do abdominal crunches by watching it on YouTube or video. Those who have cycles at home can do cycling or can do treadmills. If you can control your weight and take a healthy diet, there are still some ageing effects on your face; these usually occur because of a deficiency of elastin and collagen, which is present in the skin but replenished with the advancement in age. 

What is the difference between a young child’s face and an older person’s?

 There is a difference in elasticity. So how can we increase the body’s elastin and collagen apart from diet and exercise? With new techniques like HIFU and PRPs facial (Platelet-rich plasma). 

How can we increase elastin and collagen in our bodies?

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound
