Symptoms of PCOS

Irregular periods, weight gain, mood swings, and difficulty in conception are a few problems a woman faces these days. These problems can be symptoms of PCOS. So today, we will discuss PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome. 

What is PCOS/PCOD? 

PCOS or polycystic ovarian syndrome or disease, as I was said, its common symptoms are: Irregular periods, delay in periods for months, excessive weight gain, hair growth, specifically male pattern of hair growth in females. In addition, females who are trying to get pregnant but cannot conceive; these are a few common symptoms of PCOS.

PCOS is hormonal; instead, it is a hormonal and metabolic disease. There is an imbalance of female hormones. Insulin is one such hormone whose insensitivity results in weight gain. These types of females are also prone to diabetes in later stages. 

PCOS Problem Treatment 

PCOS is a broad spectrum. All females don’t need to have all symptoms of PCOS. Some may have weight gain, some may suffer from irregular periods, and some may develop acne, so we individualize the treatment according to the problems of the females. 

Treatment for infertility 

If someone has a basic issue of infertility, we will treat them accordingly so that there is formation according to the time so that she can conceive. 

Treatment for acne and weight gain 

Now, if the female has a weight gain or acne problem, we will address that. But in PCOS, one thing is common; it is a lifestyle disease. So if we diagnose PCOS in females and at that stage, she doesn’t want pregnancy, we will treat her according to her symptoms, whether it is an irregular period, acne, or excessive facial hair growth. 

Lifestyle modifications 

So, according to the problem, we individualize the treatment according to the symptoms. Apart from individualized treatment, we advise a few common things to PCOS patients which is lifestyle modification. In lifestyle modification, control your weight, follow some exercise pattern; it can be yoga, walking, or in the gym; we advise regular exercise, which could be in any form in lifestyle modification. 

Because by losing weight, we can reduce many of the symptoms of PCOS. Despite doing exercise, if you feel like there are no reduction symptoms or you still have few symptoms, you can come to us. We will do the appropriate examination and diagnosis and accordingly start the treatment.
