Exercise for Squint eye Treatment

There are specific Exercises to Treat Squint Eyes. The most important thing in squint eye is to provide sufficient light to the eye so that that eye can make clear vision. Step one is to give the correct glasses. If the patient cannot see correctly, the doctor suspects it to be a lazy eye even after getting the right pair of spectacles. Then the patient is put on vision or occlusion therapy, the most common exercise for Squint eye.

The most common exercise for Squint eye: Occlusion therapy

In occlusion therapy, doctors bandage the normal eye for 6-8 hours daily. A bandage on the normal eye puts all the work pressure on the lazy eye and helps its development. Occlusion therapy, or the most common exercise for Squint eyes, works like this.

Advanced exercise for Squint Eye: Vision therapy

In vision therapy, some technologies have come in now. For example, there are a few computer apps. Vision therapy is also called Dichoptic therapy. It is another way of improving the lazy eye.

Other exercises for Squint eye: Conversion exercises

The third treatment method is conversion therapy. For the children who experience interval squints, doctors advise them to do conversion exercises and activities.

Which kind of conversion exercise may one try?

In particular, those who require focusing. Like playing games on the phone, reading, coloring, writing, or anything of kid’s interest. Such activities strengthen the eye’s muscles and improve eye movement control. And the eye starts aligning themselves.

Synoptophore

Lastly, there is a device called Synoptophore, which is available at the clinic. Doctors advise the patients to do Fusional exercises in a Synoptophore. In the fusional exercise, we ask the child to focus and bring two pictures together. Such exercise also improves control over the eyes and helps align the eyes.

How to select one therapy?

An eye specialist can only decide which therapy is suitable for the child after a proper diagnosis. Sometimes, the child’s condition improves only with glasses and exercise. In other cases, the exercise has no positive effect on the squint. An eye specialist makes all these decisions. So it is essential to consult an ophthalmologist.

Bottom line

Whenever you take your child for squint eye treatment, the first step would be to get the correct glasses. The second step, if necessary, get vision or occlusion therapy or lazy eye treatment. If all these steps positively affect the eye, the doctor would recommend surgery. The eye specialist can only decide at what age they can do the operation for squinted eyes. I hope the information I have provided you today about squint eyes will help you.
