Females quite often have acidity during pregnancy. Pregnant ladies can have acidity in all three trimesters also. So quite often, it gives a sleepless night to the mothers. During the first trimester of pregnancy, a hormonal rush is going inside the pregnant woman that causes various changes that ultimately lead to acidity. In addition, the medication a pregnant lady needs to take during the entire month of gestation also causes acidity. Finally, when the baby grows inside quite well in the third trimester, it gives little space for food and the intestine to move. As a result, the food is kept static in the stomach, leading to more acid production.
There are a few remedy for acidity in pregnancy:
The first thing is the pregnant lady should take frequent small meals. In between meals, the mother can take lots of fluids like water. After the meals, one can opt for sugar-free chewing gums. They also lead to less production of acid. The third thing is to avoid fried and fatty foods. One thing that is very common during pregnancy is fruit juices. But fruit juices only give acidity to the mother. Hence, the lady must avoid fruit juices and soup. In addition, doctors advise females to have fruits or any seasonal fruit. It provides fiber and also counters the problem of frequent constipation. Then with every meal, the doctor would advise the mother to take steps after the meal, like after every main meal, they should do a 15-minute walk. The other thing is that the pregnant lady can take cold milk. It also helps in the sudden suppression of acidity and the feeling of acid reflux.
